Rose Scott

Scott was an educator in St. Bernard Parish for over thirty years.

The former Andrew Jackson High School athletic director was hired as the school’s physical education teacher and head softball coach in 1966.

Andrew Jackson reached the state playoffs 19 of the 22 years Scott coached, capturing eight state championships and two runners-up titles.

Scott has been honored as District Coach of the Year four times, the All-Metro Louisiana High School Coaches Association’s Softball Coach of the Year twice, the National High School Coaches Association’s Regional Softball Coach of the Year twice, and the National High School Coaches Association’s National Softball Coach of the Year once.

In 1992, Scott was inducted into the Louisiana Softball Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame. She also has been inducted into the Louisiana High School Athletic Association’s and Louisiana High School Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame.
