Artie Liuzza

Class of 2009

Artie Liuzza is presently the assistant football coach at Pope John Paul II High School. He starred in football and baseball at Chalmette High and was a two-year letterman in football at Tulane University. Artie was formerly the head football coach and athletic director at St. Bernard High School for four years. Before becoming head coach at Slidell in 2007, Liuzza was the offensive coordinator for the Tigers when the team won nine district championships and made the state playoffs for 19 seasons. The 1986 team finished as state runner-up and in 2004 as a semi-finalist. The Tigers have been to the state playoffs twice during Liuzza’s tenure.
